A sanctioned event of the renown International Chili Society will be held Saturday, Sept. 22, at Highport Resort and Marina on Lake Texoma. Gates open at 10 a.m. with cooking starting at noon. Judging will begin at 3:30 p.m. for the expected 30 teams in this first annual Chili Cookoff at Highport. Along with the chili cooking revelry, Miss Chili Pepper and Mr. Hot Sauce will also be selected and a country-western band will perform.
